Evidence and limits
Rule swa-2026.1 · effective 1 January 2026 · checked 8 September 2026. The standard personal rate is €252 from age 25, or €163.70 for most applicants aged 18–24. Ordinary qualified-adult and child rates are included where applicable.
SWA uses its own capital formula: first €5,000 disregarded, then €1 per €1,000 on the next €10,000, €2 on the next €25,000 and €4 thereafter. Interim payments can be recovered from later arrears.
Estimate only: Community Welfare decides needs, means, residence and the final award — including the Habitual Residence Condition and right to reside, which this calculator never assesses itself. A person starting work may qualify for up to 30 days while waiting for wages.
